Meet the Team

Welcome to our Thinking Caps family!

We are here to help your child or teenager feel more confident with their learning.

We love kids. You’ll find us to be very friendly and approachable and able to make your child feel at ease.

We welcome children with specific learning needs and do our very best to adapt our teaching to provide the right support.

Thinking Caps choose experienced teachers as in-school tutor; teachers who have excelled in the classroom and have the extra ‘X- FACTOR’! They all get a buzz from those light-bulb moments when they know that something has ‘clicked’!

Thinking Caps tutors understand how to teach to children’s individual learning needs, how to make them feel at ease and supported and especially make Maths fun and easy to understand!

Our Study Buddy student tutors, who work one on one with secondary school students, are very capable and mature and particularly valuable as they have ‘been there and done that’.

I am a Year 13 student at Wentworth College. I believe that helping students who are struggling with a subject at school, or who may want extra tutoring, is very important to me. Many of us, including myself, may need help from someone to understand something that we find difficult.

Available for one on one and virtual lessons Y7-12.

I am a Year 13 student at Kingsway School. I believe tutoring is very important as often students sometimes need to have things explained more than once or just in a slightly different way. Tutoring offers a different perspective and angle on difficult subjects along with one-on-one help. I really enjoy figuring out the best way for someone to understand and making it fun!

Available for one on one and virtual lessons Y7-12.

I am a level 3 student studying at Whangaparaoa College. I love tutoring because I love watching the moment in a kid’s eyes when they start to understand a topic. There is nothing more special than learning in my opinion, and there is so much we can all learn from each other.

Available for one on one and virtual lessons Y7-12.
