Starting school is a big milestone, and our School Readiness Programme is here to help make that step feel exciting, not overwhelming.

 

Through fun, hands-on learning, and time to practise important skills, we gently prepare your child for the routines, relationships, and confidence they need to thrive in their first year of school.
Days:Monday, Tuesday and Wednesdays
Small Groups:4 max
Times:Session 1: 9.15-10.15am
Session 2: 10.30-11.30am
Session 3: 11.45-12.45pm
(Book 1 or more group sessions per week)
Location:6a David Sidwell Place HQ Thinking Caps
Cost:1 hour = $40
Age Group:4 to 5 year olds
What will my child learn

We support the whole child, not just the ABCs. It is about growing confidence, independence, and a love of learning.

Meet Rene – our Ready Set School tutor

Hi, I’m Rene, and I’m passionate about helping children aged 4–5 feel fully prepared for the big step and incredible milestone into primary school. With years of hands-on classroom experience, group teaching and a strong understanding of what schools expect, I offer support to build your child’s confidence and skills before they start formal education.

 

Here’s what I bring to each session:

 

Trained Ex-Nurse – a caring, attentive approach to your child’s well-being TEFL Qualified – I specialise in teaching English to children aged 4–16 who speak other languages Qualified in Psychology and Counselling – supporting emotional and social readiness Speech and Language Intervention & Structured Literacy Training – building strong communication and early literacy foundations Autism Training through the Children’s Foundation of New Zealand – informed, inclusive learning strategies

 

Whether your child needs help with early language, confidence, social skills, or foundational learning, at Little Caps I create a warm and supportive environment tailored to their needs.
